Connect a Google Gemini API key

Create, test, monitor, and revoke a Gemini key without sharing it with Chronicle support.

Create and save the key

  1. Sign in to Google AI Studio API keys.
  2. Create a key for the project you want Chronicle usage associated with.
  3. In Chronicle, open Settings → AI summaries → Provider API keys → Google Gemini.
  4. Paste the key there and save it. Never paste it into this website, a screenshot, a public issue, or a support message.

Chronicle encrypts provider keys on this device. Optional encrypted key sync is separate and off until you enable it.

Billing and limits

Availability, free access, billing rules, and rate limits can change. Review Google's live billing guide, pricing page, and rate limits. Your Google invoice and AI Studio usage view are authoritative.

Revoke or replace the key

Delete or replace the key in Google AI Studio, then clear the saved Google key in Chronicle. A revoked key makes new AI work fail or remain pending; local version capture continues.
